Sounds All Around

This past week we learned about sound.  We read Sounds All Around by Wendy Pfeffer and learned about pitch and vibration.  We discussed objects that made noise or no noise and sounds that were loud and quiet.

We also learned about Dr. Seuss as his birthday is remembered on March 2nd.  We had fun playing with rhyming sounds in words.  Our favorite Dr. Seuss books were Are You My Mother? and Wacky Wednesday.  

March 2nd is also Read Across America Day.  

During center time, the kids went to a station called sound eggs.  They had to shake the egg and guess what was inside.

    

We also borrowed rhythm sticks from Mrs. Kolp and made noises with them.  We made different noises with maracas while listening to Debbie Clement's song shakers.
