Fantastic Faith Jan 23

Gospel lesson for the Third Sunday in Ordinary Time - 1-18-2015

Dear Parents,

Today your child listened to a simplified version of  Mark 1:14-20.

Theme: Jesus calls His followers

To reinforce at home:
In the Gospel of Mark, we heard about what happened when Jesus called the first disciples while they were fishing.  We know that Jesus calls each of us to do different things.  We tried to guess what Jesus was teaching the other fishermen -–perhaps about tolerance or patience and definitely always about LOVE!

Activities for home:
*Share God’s love!  Give a hug to someone who is sad and needs one.

*Read scripture!  Read the story of Jonah to your child.  The story is a wonderful one about trying to run away from the work God asks you to do.

*Set an example!  As Christians, you and your child show others all about Jesus just by living your everyday life.  Decide together to do something to show others about Jesus – (examples might be: to purchase something for your local food pantry, to work together on your patience or your tempers, to be more polite to strangers by holding doors or being nice while driving.)
